Arnold has an extensive playing background with stops in both the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). He began his professional career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who selected him in the fifth round of the 1989 draft. After two seasons with the Steelers, Arnold played for the Houston Oilers in 1990 and 1991.
Arnold moved to the CFL in 1992 and played three seasons (1992-94) for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, leading the team in sacks as an outside linebacker. He concluded his playing career in 1996 with a world championship while playing for the Scottish Claymores of the NFL Europe League.
Prior to his professional career, the four-year letter winner was a two-time All-Big Ten selection. He recorded 105 career tackles (81 solo) and five interceptions as a defensive back. The University of Michigan was 38-9-2 overall and 25-5-2 in the Big Ten during his career. The Wolverines made two trips to the Rose Bowl and went 3-1 in Bowl games during his stay.
While enrolled at the University of Michigan in 1985, he played as a defensive back for head coach Bo Schembechler with two games at cornerback in 1986, nine games in 1987, and 10 games in 1988. Being selected by conference coaches as a first-team defensive back on the 1988 All-Big Ten Conference football team was an honored. In four years at Michigan, he recorded 105 tackles, 15 pass breakups, five interceptions, and three fumble recoveries, and seven blocked punts.
In 1997, he lost a very dear childhood friend which led him to begin his journey helping young (and old) people overcome difficult challenges, adversity and potential obstacles by communicating and providing a solution. This is how D. A. S. H. was founded. For people to understand that having daily “Discipline”, a positive “Attitude”, making “Sacrifices” and creating good “Habits”, they can reach their goals and be productive in their Communities and be Successful in Life.
Now serving as a Defensive Coordinator at Waynesburg University, he has the opportunity to impact youth thru his program and its players, confirming anything is possible with these very elements, “Discipline, Attitude, Sacrifice, Habits.
